HOW IT WORKS

Support that fits into the actual school week.

This is hands-on coaching. We look at what is happening now, make a plan, and practice following through. The student stays in the driver’s seat. I teach and coach alongside them.

First, we talk.

A paid consultation gives us a chance to talk about your student and whether coaching is a good fit. If you enroll, the consultation payment is credited toward the first four weeks of coaching. I confirm the consultation fee and details before you book.

We get to know the student.

We begin with a 60-minute meeting to take inventory together. Depending on the student’s school and needs, we screen-share their learning management system (LMS), gradebook, submitted and missing work, assignments, tests, projects, syllabi, and teacher emails.

We look at the life around school, too: sports, activities, work, family commitments, friendships, sleep, and rest. I ask how it feels, what is working, and what keeps getting in the way. We leave with real priorities and a workable starting plan.

The first four weeks involve that opening meeting plus approximately four total hours of coaching across the four weeks. I confirm the opening-session charges and what is included before enrollment.

Short meetings. Practical support.

We meet three or four times across the week: three 20-minute meetings or four 15-minute meetings, totaling one hour. We reopen the student’s school systems, check progress and emotional state, adjust for changed deadlines, and decide what to do next.

  1. Check in. How is the student feeling? What went well? What feels difficult?
  2. Look together. We review assignments, deadlines, upcoming tests, and the other commitments in the student’s week.
  3. Choose what matters. The student helps choose priorities. We separate the master list from tonight’s plan, choose a study approach, and set work blocks, breaks, and a realistic stop time.
  4. Try the plan. The student notices what helps and brings what did not work back to the next conversation. We adjust without blame and gradually transfer more planning and decision-making to them.

Support between meetings, too.

Students can text anytime, including when they feel panicked about schoolwork or do not know where to begin. My response commitment is within 24 hours, subject to communicated exceptions.

Text support is for brief guidance, problem-solving, and accountability, not unlimited on-demand tutoring. Where appropriate, we use start-and-stop messages or short progress updates. This is not immediate, 24/7 service or emergency care.

We practice learning, not just finishing.

I draw on my teaching experience to find where understanding breaks down. Students practice recalling without looking, explaining an idea, connecting concepts, solving problems, and checking their reasoning.

We also work on frustration, perfectionism, changing plans, and separating self-worth from grades. Personalized study guides can be commissioned separately. Educational coaching complements therapy and tutoring; it does not diagnose or treat mental-health conditions.

Parents are part of the picture.

I help families move from blame and repeated reminders toward practical support. With appropriate consent, I may coordinate with teachers, administrators, counselors, therapists, pediatricians, or coaches, and help clarify learning needs with documented examples.

We respect the student’s privacy and voice, including adult students’ individual boundaries. The goal is a more supportive school and home environment, not more people managing the student.

Simple, four-week enrollment.

Standard rate: $1,200 per four-week period.

Reopening rate: $900 per four-week period, protected for six months of continuous enrollment.

Coaching is prepaid and continues month to month in four-week periods, with no long-term contract. Families decide whether to continue after each period. We confirm the full fees and opening-session details before enrollment.
