PERSONALIZED STUDY GUIDES
A study guide should teach students how to study.
My personalized study guides help students understand what matters, remember it, explain it, and use it. Each guide is made for a particular student and course.
Built from what their teacher is teaching.
I work from teacher-provided review sheets, test-topic outlines, assigned textbook sections, class slides, notes, and handouts. Before I start, I ask about the course, assessment, preparation, confidence, and where studying tends to break down.
I build and review each guide myself, so the student has a clear resource and a way to work through the material independently.
More than rereading.
- See the big picture. A roadmap, topic list, or timeline shows how the material fits together.
- Understand and connect. Explanations and examples help students see why an idea matters.
- Recall without looking. Prompts, flashcards, and practice questions show what they can retrieve.
- Apply and explain. Students use what they know in problems, comparisons, and short answers.
- Check and plan. Answer keys and review prompts show what needs another pass.
Important steps stay visible on the page. Students can study a little, check what they know, and return to what needs practice.
The format fits the subject.
AP U.S. History: Timelines, chapter roadmaps, historical-cartoon caption practice, and “What?” / “So what?” flashcards connect facts with significance.
Chemistry: Step-by-step recipe cards, worked examples, practice problems, and answer keys help students work through unfamiliar questions.
Algebra: Problem-solving recipes show each step, common pitfalls, worked solutions, and independent practice.
Want to work through it together?
Students can ask about adding a one-hour private study session. We use the guide to practice, ask questions, notice what is getting in the way, and plan the rest of their preparation.
The goal is to leave with study habits and tools they can keep using.
How to request a guide.
- Tell me about the course and assessment, and whether you would like a private study hour.
- Share the teacher’s materials and complete a short student questionnaire.
- I review the request and confirm scope, price, and timing.
- Once payment is received, I create the guide and provide instructions for using it.
